Michel Claeys

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Belgian psychotherapist Michael Claeys has been in Beijing since 2001, working as a psychotherapist, lecturing and training in Chinese universities. His background offers him a unique blend of educational expertise, based on a wide exposure to various approaches in personal development, group work, counseling and psychotherapy.

Born in 1950, he was first trained as a lawyer, but he rapidly redirected his professional life towards education and counseling. After living in Scotland in the seventies (Findhorn Foundation, educational department) he has traveled to North America, France and Switzerland, following further training in personal development and counseling. He started running various workshops and in the eighties established himself in Belgium (Brussels), practicing as a private counselor and psychotherapist. He founded a non-profit organization (‘Deuil et Transition, asbl’) offering support to the grieving and dying. He also published a news bulletin (‘Réseaux’), wrote many articles and several books. His book ‘The Emotional Education Classroom’ (published in France in 2004) is available in Chinese – Xinhua bookstores (Oriental Press, Renmin Shubanshe, 应该补上的一课). He is currently preparing a new book on ‘Counseling Strategies’.

M. Claeys is associate professor at the Beijing Institute for Graphic Communication and guest professor at Beijing Union University’s Institute of Applied Psychology.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

- Master in Law, graduated in 1975. Specialized in criminology and criminal defense law.
- Certified psychotherapist, 1980 Findhorn Educational Institute, Scotland.
- Various professional trainings in the field of psychotherapy, grieving therapy, hypnosis, neuro linguistic programming, communication, group dynamics, conflict management (non violent communication NVC).

米歇尔·克莱

比利时心理咨询治疗师米歇尔·克莱2001年定居北京，目前在给法语人群提供个体心理咨询与治疗外，为中国大学提供讲座和培训。他基于个体发展、咨询与治疗方面的多种广泛的方法背景，使得他拥有独特而综合的教育理念与方法技术。

20世纪70年代，在苏格兰（Findhorn基地――教育社区）学习生活之后，他游历了北美、法国和瑞士，继续深入地参加了诸多培训，举办过内容丰富的工作坊。

20世纪80年代，他在比利时布鲁塞尔定居，并作为个体咨询和心理治疗师独立开业。此间，他创办了一个非赢利组织，为那些濒临死亡或居丧的人提供支持，同时编辑杂志，并发表了很多相关文章，著写了数本图书。他的法语著作《情感教育课堂》已经被翻译成汉语出版（东方出版社《应该补上的一课》，新华书店有售）。他现在正在著写一本关于咨询策略技术的新书。

从2004年开始，他陆续被邀请举办讲座和工作坊（如北京联合大学师范学院、北京信息科技大学、北京服装学院、北京印刷学院、中华女子学院、中国地质大学、青春热线等），他连续举办的梦工作坊和咨询策略工作坊受到心理教育与咨询治疗领域同行朋友的认可与欢迎，所开设的“我是谁”工作坊、爱情关系工作坊、沟通技能训练工作坊、冥想工作坊和情感教育课堂广泛受到欢迎。

他被北京印刷学院聘为兼职教授，被北京联合大学师范学院的应用心理学专业聘为客座教授。
